Other Notes : Description: The Silver Maple is a very popular tree for its fast growth and immense size at maturity. It is a very fast growing tree that will reach its mature height of 18m and spread of 15m very quickly. The canopy starts very high up on the tree, approximately 3m from the ground this height better displays it's green leaves with a beautiful silver underside. The unique leaves of this tree turn yellow in the fall and are preceded by clusters of red flowers in the spring. This tree should only be planted in full sun. Soil conditions do not greatly impact this tree; it is able to thrive in dry soils and can even handle some standing water. This tree is very adaptable and can live in just about any conditions. Since the Silver Maple grows to be so large it should definitely not be planted under power lines. Throughout the summer the large oval canopy of the Silver Maple is covered in green and silver leaves that produce excellent shade. Helpful Care Instructions: The Silver Maple will require some upkeep and pruning that must be done in the summer after the leaves have fully emerged for the season. If the pruning is done at any other time the tree will released sap so this should be avoided.
