The Green Gem Boxwood is a lush evergreen with a glossy leaf. It has a medium growth rate and year round green colour.
This shrub does best in full sun to partial shade. It prefers to grow in average to moist conditions, and shouldn't be allowed to dry out. The Boxwood can withstand a heavy pruning and shaping; the Green Gem Boxwood has a naturally shorter profile which makes it excellent for edging and low borders.
Helpful Care Instructions:
If you wish to define and maintain a clean shape, the Green Gem Boxwood should be pruned once or twice a season. Pruning is very simple and can be performed both spring and fall. With a pruner simply clip away any branches that stand out from the desired shape. Van Dongen's Youtube page also features how to videos on the subject.
